이케아 스위스, 세계 최초로 EDGE로부터 최고등급 양성평등 인증받아

(스위스 스프라이텐바흐 및 제네바 2015년 9월 29일 PRNewswire=연합뉴스) 양성평등에 대한 선두적인 국제 기준인 EDGE가 정책, 관행, 동일 작업에 대한 동일 임금, 채용 및 승진, 리더십 개발 교육과 멘토링, 유연한 근무 및 기업 문화 등의 다섯 영역에 대해 이케아 스위스를 평가했다. 그 결과, 이케아 스위스는 전세계 최초로 EDGE 인증의 가장 높은 ‘LEAD 등급’을 달성한 기업이 됐다.

이케아의 비전은 세계의 이케아 동료들을 포함해 여러 사람들을 위한 더 나은 일상생활을 만드는 것이다. 이케아 스위스는 수년간 3천여 동료들 간의 양성평등을 이루기 위해 헌신했다. 이케아 스위스의 대표이사인 Simona Scarpaleggia는 “EDGE 인증과 함께 이케아에서 남녀를 동등하게 대하고자 하는 우리의 포부가 실제 현실임을 확인하는 기회였다”라며 “최고 등급의 인증을 달성함으로써 우리는 임금 격차, 관리직으로의 여성 진출 및 여성을 위한 다양한 진로 부족을 방지하는 이케아의 기업구조와 문화를 강화한 셈”이라고 말했다. 31개국의 100여 기업이 지금까지 1등급 또는 2등급의 EDGE 인증을 완료했거나 인증과정을 거치고 있다.

직원 1004명 인터뷰 실시

EDGE 평가에는 기업 통계, 1천 명 이상의 직원과의 인터뷰, 이케아 스위스의 HR 전문가들과의 심층 인터뷰가 포함된다. 급여 분석 결과 ,이케아의 양성간 임금격차는 통계적으로 미미한 것으로 나타났다.

IKEA Switzerland is the First Company Worldwide to Reach Highest Level of Gender Equality Certification From EDGE

For years IKEA Switzerland has been committed to establishing gender equality amongst its 3000 co-workers. More than 100 companies from 31 different countries have been certified or are in the process of becoming certified by EDGE for the first or second level so far.

1004 employees were interviewed

The EDGE assessment included company statistics, interviews with more than 1000 employees and in-depth interviews with IKEA Switzerland's HR professionals. The analysis of salaries has shown that IKEA has a statistically insignificant unexplained gender pay gap.
